Sandra K. Dowding

Age 75, died Friday February 16, 2024 following an extended illness. Born in Canton she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Caroline (Margo) Zaiser, was a 1966 graduate of Lehman High School and a 1969 graduate of Ohio University. Living in California for over 30 years she was a K though 8 public school teacher. Following her retirement, she returned back to Stark County becoming a member to St. Peter Catholic Church in Canton and more recent Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel in Akron. She is survived by her son, Stephen Dowding of Canton; brothers: James (Judy) Zaiser of Eldorado, CA, Robert (Suzanne) Zaiser of Cardiff, CA; sister, Mary Jo (Steve) Robbins of Canton. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11:00 AM in Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, 3935 Chenowith Rd, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Fr. Daniel Chevarria as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. The Wackerly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Donations may be made in her name to Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel.
